Financial Support | Edinburgh 2026

We are proud to offer financial assistance to help enable current students and alums to attend our European Alum Symposia. We encourage you to apply for support!

How to apply...

Registration to attend in-person is now full.

Please join the waitlist if you would like to attend in person.

However, you can still register to attend Online!

Our Virtual Registration will allow you to participate live in all panels and keynotes on Saturday and Sunday, as well as connect you with all alums attending both in-person and virtually.

In order to be considered for financial assistance, please register for the symposium and complete the application form below. All information will remain confidential.

Financial assistance for alums may be granted for all or part of the registration fee only (up to £270 GBP or, for graduating classes from 2016 to 2026, £160 GBP) and an allowance of a maximum of €75 EUR (or equivalent in GBP) for travel, if needed.

Recent alums should take into consideration that they are already being awarded a registration discount of £110 GBP. Financial assistance is for extraordinary circumstances only.

Fees must be paid upfront and are subject to cancellation terms. Applicants will be notified as soon as possible of the decision on financial assistance and will receive reimbursement for all or a portion of the registration fees.

Please note that the optional tours and optional meals are NOT included in the registration fee and not subject to financial assistance.

Travel and accommodations are the responsibility of each participant. Financial assistance towards travel costs may be awarded for up to 75€ and will be reimbursed at the symposium (given as reimbursement upon attendance of the symposium). Although we always try to award all requests for assistance, we cannot guarantee this. We will notify applicants of decisions as soon as possible.

Subject to spots at the symposium and financial support funds still being available, applications will be accepted up to  15 August 2026. However, applicants are strongly encouraged to apply before this date.

Renee Scialom Cary Award 2026 for Students

In celebration and fond memory of its founder, Renee Scialom Cary ’48, the Mount Holyoke European Alum Council offers two or more awards to Mount Holyoke students in their junior or senior year (graduating classes ’27 or ’28) studying in Europe in the 2026-2027 academic year.

The awards consist of free registration for the Symposium and a monetary contribution of a maximum of 225 EUR (or the GBP equivalent, where relevant) towards travel costs to Edinburgh. Please note that assistance towards travel costs will be given in person at the Symposium as reimbursement.

Applicants must submit their request supported by a short statement (max. 200 words) elaborating on the following statement: “A Mount Holyoke education is a key to the world: My experience.”

The officers of the Mount Holyoke European Council will make the final selection. The winners will be honored during the festive dinner on Saturday evening, and their winning essays will be published on the Global Alum Alliance website.
